DESMOND

The match kicked off with high energy, as the Gaelic Lions burst out of the gates with a fast start, leaving 1TM struggling to find their rhythm. The Lions capitalized on their early dominance, scoring in the first ten minutes when their forward controlled the ball in the box and finished clinically. 1TM responded almost immediately, breaking quickly on the counter. Sharps delivered a pinpoint cross that found Flat White, who headed home to equalize at 1-1. However, the Lions regained the lead shortly after. A well-timed through ball found their striker just onside, and he calmly slotted home to make it 2-1. In the second half, 1TM dominated possession, creating several close chances but failing to convert. Their persistence paid off when Sharps found space down the left and floated a perfect cross to the back post, where young Herm finished superbly to level the game at 2-2. Thanks to the Gaelic Lions for a competitive match and the officials for their management. Special shoutout to Herm Snr and Tinks for their support. Ding Dong Cup Tie

Lions came out of the traps quickest in the first half with a lovely finish from Daire Flanagan to put Lions up 1-0. The game swung both ways in the 1st half, with Latini having more of the possession, ending up with a well taken header to make it 1-1. With both teams having good chances on goal, it was Lions with the next goal before Halftime. A through ball from Dom Marwood set Ronan O’Boyle free, and he stuck it away to make it 2-1 at the break. The second half brought lots of solid defending from the Lions for large periods, but while looking dangerous on the break, we were undone with a well worked move from left to right on the counter attack. The game finished 2-2. Thanks, Latini, for the hard fought cup game.
