A top of the table clash with SCC and Vikings ended up in a 0-0 draw. Both teams had chances to win the game. SCC didn’t create as much as we would of liked and Vikings had two great chances near the end but couldn’t find a way past the inform Ronnie in SCC goal.

It was a much anticipated game at Dempsey on Saturday afternoon between Vikings and SCC Firsts. The game between #1 and #2 in the Cosmo League was postponed from mid-December due to rain and the two teams were fired up to bounce back from defeats last weekend. The Vikings team started in a 4-5-1 to control the game in the midfield and give space on the wings for Leslie and Jesper to create the chances. It was a nervous start from the Vikings team and it took a shot after 15 mins on the cross bar from SCC before the Vikings started to control the game. In the rest of the second half it was a hard-fought game where both teams put in full dedication although only smaller chances were created. Bodie got an injury after 35 mins and it was time for Elbo to put down the champagne glass and step up in his comeback for the Vikings. The second half turned out to be as demanding for the players as the first half. Vikings started to produce more chances. First with Jesper cutting into the field from the left and making a shot aimed for the top corner but it was unfortunately stopped by a great save from the SCC keeper. 10 minutes later Young Jonas had the chance to score the all important goal. He receives the ball with his chest, makes a few moves and makes a good finish but unfortunately the keeper was again in the right position to make an impressive save. In the final 20 minutes Nikolai made his debut (welcome!), Hotan made his comeback (welcome back!) and Karl Martin made his first entry in 2017. The game ended 0-0 – which was probably fair for both teams. It was remarkable efforts from both teams – well described by a situation in the last minute when both Domino and US fall to the ground with cramps after running for 90 minutes straight. Thank you to the supporters, SCC and the referees for a fair game.
