El cosmo classico 6 pointer

Given that it was one a piece in the games this season and with us sitting 3 points behind latini in the table, it was a massive game for us. We new 3 points puts us in the race for 4th and a loss would deflate our seasons ambitions. We had 2 games this season of the high pressing Latini attack which ended up in a win a piece. We started 4-5-1 and set ourselves up to keep it tight in midfield especially for the first half. Latini started with the pressing but we moved the ball around very well and for once this season immediately dictated the play creating space right and left. We didn't get ourselves into trouble and it seemed at times that the training had paid off. Some super football through the middle with mark harry and silvan linking up very well with the back 4. Malaka had more touches in the first half than anybody was driving us forward on the left, Benji pushing forward down the right and we looked likely to get the first goal. 20 minutes in and we found ourselves with quite a bit of possession in the final third. A nice pass from harry fed silvan at the edge of the box and he hammered in a shot to put us 1-0 up. On 30 minutes lovely football from mark harry and benji saw harry slide addy through and he beat one before finishing well poking it past the onrushing keeper. Expecting a latini backlash we reorganised and latini were looking dangerous on the break. Malaka swung a cross into the box and addy attacked the header got the flick on for the recently introduced itchy to fire in a bicycle kick. 3-0 up before half time and everything flying in for us. Fraser made a top class save with the right peg to stop duplo and we were sure it was our day. Latini pushed on for the rest of the half but we did well and kept it 3-0 at the break. "Dont F*** it away now" And we didn't, more of the same second half with quality football and a good finishing. The fourth came when Mark dribbled 2-3 players and played a lovely one two with the post before squaring it for eric who swept it in to make it 4-0. The 5th came when a corner went to the back post and addy dribbled it back in and played it to peter who finished well. The 6th a majestic cross from itchy that addy controlled on the run and volleyed home. FT 6-0, never expected to put 6 passed latini, would've been delighted with a 1-0. Cheers to latini for the game. MOM for them was duplo who created problems all game. MOM for APM was Mr unselfish Addy with 2 goals and 3 assists, everything went through him today. Big game next week vs vikings to gauge how far we can go this season.

Good luck JT

On Saturday night we had a great turnout to give our Vice Captain and Treasurer a big sendoff ahead of his move back to Chelmsford, England.  A lovely bloke and a quality player who arguably deserved a Cosmo league title for his individual efforts! A lot of Cosmo teams told us they would have loved him in their team which speaks volumes.  All the best JT, aka Robot, VC.   A week can be a long time in football.  On the back of a solid victory versus Nippon, inexplicably we hit the self destruct button and embarrassingly imploded.  All the good work we did against Nippon disappeared, we lost our shape, energy, heart and composure.  The net result APM were 3 nil up after 30 minutes, the pick of the goals an overhead kick from the left winger.   At half time we received a right rollicking from Tally, all constructive, all fair.  We had been a complete shambles!!  We improved in the 2nd half but our fate was sealed when APM scored a 4th and rubbed salt in to our wounds with two late goals.   Congratulations to APM who thoroughly deserved their victory, no excuses from Latini you were the best team in every department.  We will dust ourselves down and hope to rediscover our Nippon form against SCC this Saturday.  Thanks to Handy Andy for persevering watching us from the sidelines, and hopefully we haven’t put Big Ben’s and Pep’s lads off football after watching their daddy’s get a good hiding.    Next game v SCC, Saturday 11th March, 5pm Dempsey   MOM – Duplo for showing more heart than any of his team mates MON Aioli – Mark Addy (no.8) – 2 goals and a menace all game    Kit: - Pep
