FFS! Form of late hasn’t been great, form impacts a lot of thigs, most notable numbers at training which has been dwindling over the past month or so. That said, all those injuries and knocks always appear to be fine come Friday (unless your Frazer who made an amazing recovery to run a 10km a day later). We were confident coming in to the game, like always, the quality is there for sure but we just need a bit of luck to turn our way. Team set up ready to combat Rangers, who we knew would be tough to break down. Game started well for Casuals, in control of the ball with Jake and Josh looking lively up top and were already causing problems for the backline. The midfield was doing well, getting forward and also providing protection for the back line. An just like that we were 1-0 down. A hopeful punt in to the box caught steady on his heels and the striker dived in between steady and the Colonel and get flick in to the open net! A little undeserved but that’s really been the story of our season so far. Second half and we were ready to get the season going again, we showed enough in the first half to provide a little hope that we could get a result. And then we were 2 down! Striker chased down a ball and unfortunately the colonel kicked it straight at him and the ball fell kindly to the striker for an open goal. 2 became 3 although it was offside by some way. 4th and 5th followed with the striker turning past the backline was ease and finishing well and then a final goal from a counter where the mid left the runners for an easy finish. We had chances throughout with Munnsford, Dan B*tch, Jake-poo to name a few, including off the bar and a goalmouth scramble. Score line definitely flatters Rangers however they took their chances and kept a clean sheet so well done gents! For most, the season cant end soon enough and with only a few games to play we hope that a little pride will be restored. Special mention to Steady who is giving up his life next week by getting married in Shitty Sydney, what’s worse is that I have to go and f*cking hate Australians! Animals! In the words of Arsenal fans worldwide… #PatzWoodbridgeSteadyOut!

More Casual than we expected

Rangers turned up to Friday night lights at UWC with a solid starting 11 and a new keeper in the form of talismanic striker Kev Slack. Casuals started better and were good in possession from the start, their young lads up front making a lot of runs in behind and threatening our back line. After about 15 mins we took our first chance when Hiro crossed for Salvo to ghost in front of their CB to nod past the keeper. The rest of the first half Rangers started to make more of the ball with some chances going begging but still both teams well in it. 1-0. We knew we had to start the second half well to keep Casuals away and we did that, albeit through fortuitous circumstances, when Danny was played through and the keeper tried to clear but hit it straight into him for an easy run into an open net. Two became three soon after when Salvo just decided he was going to run at the defence and smash one into the top bin. During this Stevie got a yellow for a late slide tackle he started in Jurong. The fourth came about 15 after when Rangers legend Toddy (making one comeback appearance) slotted home from Salvo's cross. Then came the changes to give everyone some game time, and one of the subs, Pietro, tucked home nicely in the box late on to seal the deal. 5-0 final score and we felt we deserved to win but look forward to the cup semi here in a months time for another crack at it. MOM for Rangers was Salvo. On fire at the moment. MOM for Casuals was Jake for his tireless running and threat especially in the first half. Got some good young players.
