I need a Hiro

Rangers took to this game a good few players short, and the prep wasn't ideal with the team talk happening 1 min before kick off. Regardless Rangers started the brightest and Paddy slammed in a half volley from the edge of the area after a defensive slip up. Sharples made it 2 almost straight after in customary fashion. Rangers then took their foot off the gas and the Germans scored a good goal of their own after robbing the Rangers midfield. Paddy restored the 3 goal advantage after an ugly goalmouth scramble and Sharples made it 4 before halftime with a shot the keeper probably should've saved. The second half was poor from Rangers with the Germans dominating possession and creating plenty of problems, particularly Basti. However Rangers could've made it 5 when we were gifted a harsh penalty but paddy spurned his chance of a hat trick. All in all Rangers probably edged the game but this was a proper contest and the quality of the German play highlights that the start to their season is no fluke. We look forward to the league game. MoM for Germans to basti who was always on the move and was a genuine nuisance. MoM for rangers to Hiro, who played like he does very week

Go for the Plate

At the cup game, which took place Saturday evening at 5 pm Rangers were playing GAS. GAS played with a new formation, including changes on 5 positions, compared to last week’s game against Casuals. According to the coaches they wanted to give new players the chance to present their selves. But this decision should have tremendous consequences. Already after 5 minutes Rangers took the lead. After a fatal pass of the left defender into the centre, Rangers number 9 easily scored the goal. Only 10 minutes after the first goal, Rangers increased their lead by another goal. But the Germans didn’t give up and Jonas brought the Germans back into the game after he finished a beautiful combination by the Germans. After that again Rangers were dominating the game and increased the lead by 2 additional goals before half time. So the half time results was 4:1. The second half started like the first ended with attacks by the Rangers. But the German were lucky that a penalty given by the Referee for a handball in the box didn’t find his way into the German goal. Both teams subbed players in the middle of the second half and Rangers obviously slowed down the speed a bit, satisfied with the 4:1. This lead to a couple of good chances for the German team. First Michael had missed alone in front of Rangers keeper and then Basti was fouled in the Rangers penalty area but the Referee refused to give the penalty. This lead to a final result of 4:1. In the second half both teams equalized each other but overall Rangers took a deserved win in the cup game and the German will now try their luck in the Plate Cup.
