Report

The game between OG and the northmen started out at a high pace but with both teams awaiting eachother. With a possesion fairly split between the two teams, it was from start looking to be a well matched game. Around halfway into 1st half, an interception of a long pass on Gaulois's half by Panda kickstarted a counter attack. The ball was passed to Leslie in the penalty area, and despite Lightning being taken down from behind without the ball being in the vicinity of the OG defender, the linesman standing only 15 meters away with a clear view, seemed to be clueless as to what a penalty kick is. Only 5 minutes later OG gets the ball in possesion, the ball is placed to Striker Rob, and with quick feet and a well placed curve to the left of the keeper Gaulois is now ahead 1-0. Half time. 2nd half kicked off with a a lot of tackles. Especially Leslie was fighting around, pulling several free kicks high on OG's half. With 15 minutes to go, Vikings got a freekick outside the box, to the left side of the keeper. The position that Vikings had already had 2 chances from, saw Jesper Meincke step up. With number 7 on his back, expectations are bound to be high for a freekick. Luckily Meincke didn't dissapoint. And he lead the Red-clad Northmen to 1-1. With the game coming to an end, Gaulois put on high pressure but without luck. Full time saw the match end at 1-1, which is an accurate picture of the game and the efforts put in from both teams.

Report

An enjoyable game ended with both team fairly splitting the points. OG took the lead thanks to Rob who neatly finished after a good run from Remi on the right wing. OG had the chance to open the scoreline earlier via Rob who headed the ball only to see it nicely saved by the keeper on his line. Vikings also had their chances and should probably have a penalty earlier on in the game. 1-0 HT. Second half was intense, with both team really trying to play some good football and engaging into physical but fair contact. Ref kinda broke a bit the pass of the game with too many blow that made it hard for both team to keep their calm and pace. Vikings came back in the last 10min with a small hand mistake from our Keeper from a free kick that bounced and spin just in front of him. OG had their chances too in second half to kill the game or take the lead again but could not convert them. Overall a disappointment for us in regards of the spirit we put into the game and the way we conceded the equalizer, but the game was quite even and Vikings did not steal their points. MOM OG: Antoine for a superb second half as left back. MOM Viking: Brain (the left winger)
