Tale of Two Halves

Rangers started the stronger of the two sides in this cup match, as Hotspurs struggled to cope with their attacking threat. 2-0 Rangers at half-time and it could have been more if it hadn't been for a strong performance from Hotspurs keeper U'ren. In the second half Hotspurs had the lion's share of possession- keeping the ball well and looking a lot more lively- and when they reduced the deficit to one goal (Roseburgh's close-range finish following Jones' torpedo long ball to Lionel) they looked in great shape to go on and get the equaliser. A breakaway goal from Rangers however gave them back their 2-goal lead, and despite another late Hotspurs goal from Kong, there wasn't quite enough time left for Hostpurs to get something out of the game. A close game in the end, and lots of positives to take into a tough test against Gaelic Lions next week. Congratulations to Rangers, and best of luck in the next round of the Cup.

Rangers faced strong Hotspurs for the cup 16 this weekend, with having smaller squad than last week and a couple changes at last minutes. Jacko steps up with gloves to keep our goal line tight, and Jinesh being strong addition. However, a honorable captain Nate can't make his presence this week, out of down accordingly, perhaps working on scouting somewhere lol. The game started with Rangers's rhythm, dominating a possession and shut down Spurs attacking. With that, we should open a goal in early time otherwise easily being punished as a result. Fraser removed such suspicion with his header in 18 yds box, pinpoint cross by Dom. Following by addition in first half, again Fraser, this chance is created by Beatts running through into the space and delivered with another pinpoint pass. Rangers tried to make third, Danny attempted his one-on-one and Paddy ran around to keep up our possession. Throughout the game we don't let spurs create much chance except their 2 goals, which gave us a threat in the end. Dom and JC closed them down tight for entire game, Jacko made a couple save with his new gloves (thanks to Bernd). Sam's deciding smash in second half saved our position to go through into the cup 8, long delivery from right-back Ryoga, Jinesh fought with keeper and gave it to Sam to make our third goal. Having next week off and facing another league game the week after, need to be back into the winning way in the league too.
