A bloody hot day for this clash against Hibs on Turf pitch 2. Vikings had probably the best squad of the season, but Hibs did well standing deep and proofed to be dangerous on a few counters where Eu Jin once again did well and saved a few one on one with keeper. After some 5 min Lasse had a golden opportunity to get the Vikings the lead they had hoped for but Hibs goalkeeper who played very safe in the penalty area had a good safe on the shot. Vikings were the dominating team throughout the match but Hibs kept playing clever and solid in defense. On a day where Vikings didn’t play their best on opponents half and missed quite a few last touches/passes we had to satisfy ourselves with the one point – It was definitely a disappointed Vikings team who couldn’t score with this quality of players, but at least didn’t allow the opponent to score as well. That’s football once in a while. Thanks to Hibs for a fair game played in extreme heat, in particular in 1st half. Thanks to Alex and his team as well for doing well and not being a sleep when it counted. Mom went to Lasse who unfortunately had to step back into defense when Elbo couldn’t last more than 30 min. Solid performance Lasse.

Hibs and Vikings played out a rare Cosmo scoreless draw but the game wasn't without chances. Once the motorcycle shuttle service had been put on by the two fully grown Andy's Hibs were ready. Dehydrated and depleted, but ready. Joe will never be on drinks duty again and he's probably very happy with that. The 15 bottles of water he bought didn't even have chance to be chilled by the ice and we had run out before the game started. Both sides had a couple of sights of goal but the quality of the game was lacking. Joe saved acrobatically from the Vikings cut-back while Nick's free-kick brushed the cross-bar. Hibs defended well all game in a collective effort despite the different options Vikings tried out. Hibs' effort and desire was faultless and although Vikings dominated possession in the second half, Joe was rarely bothered. Joey put in a lung-bursting charge up-field and found himself with only the keeper to beat but his shot was straight at a grateful keeper. Hibs stayed strong and were happy with a hard-earned point. MoM goes to Heljar for a commanding performance, Guillaume had his best game for the club and was very close.
