Report

could have been a great game of football between 2 teams who tried hard but ultimately game gone a bit wrong and fake. OG was leading 2-1 thanks to goals and aissts from Iss and Hugo. Ultimately Latini had a massive chance to equalize with open goal and no defender on the horizon, but our last defender managed to grab the striker shirt, preventing the shoot. Somehow we ran away with only a yellow card making Latini furious. Seems that they turned all this anger into will to win in the 2nd half which they dominated for most of the part. We still managed to scored a beautiful 3rd team goal. Then one man came into the action, blow a penalty then closed his eyes when Lego Maradonna recovered the ball with a nice hand block passed it to the striker who scored the equalized. Sun was not bright for us and minutes later Latini scored a 4th one after our keeper ran out of his boxed and missed his kick. Then Lio got his 2nd card of the game, so we had to play 25min down to 10men. No problem as this is the 5 or 6th time of season this happen. We manage to get the last big chance of the game when Remi managed to cross a low ball from the Left that POB deflected into Hamza's feet. His shoot was save on the line by Latini's defender then Hugo kicked the rebound onto the post. The last few minutes was mostly about Latini literally trying to keep the ball on the corner flag to lose time... Classy way to end a game with 1 more men on the pitch and nothing to win / lose. 4-3 FT. Well done to Latini for never giving up. A draw would have been fair but well.... 0 pts or 1pts, whats the difference...

Thriller

The clue is in the title for this match report, not only was it a pulsating game I have adopted a Michael Jackson theme to this commentary. Considering this was a dead rubber game with nothing to play for this game had everything, by the end there was “Blood on the Dance Floor”. OG were “Dangerous”, especially Hugo who was involved in their opening two goals. Firstly taking advantage when 1TM-Latini lost possession and were slow to react, Hugo ran through unchallenged and scored. In a similar situation moments later Hugo evaded Captain Eyebrows who finally made a challenge, resulting in the clearance finding an OG midfielder to score from close range. It was a “Bad” start. Before the half ended Lego ran on to a through ball and “Xscape” from the OG defence and unleashed an “Unbreakable” shot high in to the net. Just before half time came the most controversial moment of many, a poor clearance fell to Tomoya who ran towards goal aided by two 1TM-Latini forwards, it was effectively 3 on 1, until a retreating OG defender pulled Tomoya back and prevented a clear goal scoring opportunity. The laws of the game mean that a red card is inevitable. The OG defender had already started to leave the pitch. Alarmingly when the referee made his way over to consult the linesman we knew that there could be an issue. “They Don’t Care About Us” as he branded only a yellow card, there was a collective 1TM-Latini “Scream”. Rory hit his freekick “Off the Wall” and the chance to equalise disappeared. A clear goal scoring opportunity could not have been more clear. A pivotal moment in the game just before half time left 1TM stunned with a feeling of being mugged. We do have the incident on camera and if the referee decides to view it he will look at the “Man in the Mirror” realising his error. Halt time 1-2. No VAR hurts. Hugo re-established OG’s two goal lead after being put through after poor 1TM-Latini marking. The game was very open and we “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” with half an hour to go. Rory scored our 2nd from the penalty spot, no arguments with the penalty award. Pep was confident and felt this game was ours and asked me “Can You Feel It?” Lego was a “Smooth Criminal” as he evaded OG challenges and claims for hand ball, bundling home a well deserved equaliser. We could sense there was a winning goal to be had and Tally shouted from the touchline “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”. Our winning goal came from an unlikely source. After missing an easier chance moments earlier, Leo the Lion pounced on a loose ball from 35 yards out and hit a high lob in to the goal. Can you “Remember the Time” he last scored? In to the last 10 minutes and OG had a lot of possession and were creating chances, we certainly had “Butterflies” in our stomachs. Pep “You Rock My World” made two match saving tackles on the edge of the box and Hugo hit a post to be denied a hat trick. Final score 4-3. Unfortunately the game was impacted by disappointing referring decisions and both teams can feel aggrieved for numerous poor decisions. It’s a shame, but this is “The Way You Make Me Feel”, however, we all make mistakes and “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” for having a poor game. Thanks to Ethan’s dad, Nick, Leonard, JR and Mrs Dondo for supporting OG MoM : Hugo 1TM-Latini MoM: Lego DOD: Captain Eyebrows, for tripping over himself in the warm up KIT: - TBC
