Friday Night Lights - GAS vs. Vikings

Late Friday evening game at Turf City against the German All Stars. After a mix-up in the pitch bookings at Turf City and a few phone calls from Tommie we managed to book the Centaurs pitch and kick-off with 15 minutes delay. The Vikings team started the game in a 3-5-2 with the focus on dominating the midfield, bringing the Viking team spirit, focusing on moving the ball around and putting pressure on the Germans. Despite the Formula 1 events the Vikings team managed to pull together a strong squad and dominated most of the game. Great Viking spirit both on the pitch and among the passionate Viking supporters. The Vikings team produces several good chances during the first half and managed to close down most of the German attacks before they get dangerous. After 25 mins Tommie scores the first goal of the match after a great through-ball from US. Tommie runs between the defenders and lobs the ball over the goalkeeper. After a few adjustments in the half-time the Vikings team continue to produce chances. A few injuries during the first half have put additional pressure on the German team. After a long throw-in the ball ends up with Tommie. He shoots but the goalie blocks the shot. Jesper N quickly snaps up the ball and scores for the second game in a row – 2-0 Vikings. After 55 minutes Panda gets substituted for Jonas. After 60 minutes Lasse gets swapped for Oliver, making his Viking debut. Welcome Oliver! A loose ball get snapped up by US after 70 minutes and he scores, 3-0 Vikings. Bodie gets swapped after the usual 70th minute cramps. Jesper Hansen comes on. After 75 minutes Lucas comes on for Alex Froom. 90 minutes, final whistle. Thanks to the referees, supporters and the German All Stars team for a fair game.

Report

Vikings too strong for GAS

Vikings started strong, scoring early after a small mistake at GAS side. After that the game was tight and on a good level. Both sides had some good attacks but without having very clear opportunities. The game after half time was still good and tight. Vikings overall had more possession. Vikings scored their 2nd goal after about 60 min when there was confusion in GAS 16yard box. 3rd goal followed after about 75min which was the decider for Vikings. Thanks to Vikings for an intense but fair game.
