F the F1!

Hotspurs took on the French under a Hazy Turf city with a heavily depleted squad due to a wave of injuries and F1 festivities. Nevertheless, a strong 11 began the game in similar fashion to last week. Hotspurs controlled the game up until the water break with some good spells of possession and great chances to get in front unfortunately not taken. Hotspurs at time riding their luck in the first half and thanks to fill in keeper Des, the sides went in level at the break. Into the second half, with significant injuries during the game also taking their toll on the side, Hotspurs stood firm until mid way through the second half when the French winger cut in from the right and scored a 25 yarder right in the bottom corner. 1-0. Roughly 5 mins later a like for like move was hit from distance into the roof of the net, 2-0. Hotspurs continued to show guts and spirit and were unlucky not to equalise with some great chances falling to us. A late suspect penalty call was dispatched to make it 3-0. The scoreline not representing the effort made by the players present on the day, some positives to take in to next week. Lionel with MOM for his continued level of performance this season. Special mention to Zack who put in a great shift in the middle of the park.

OG continue their winning serie by taking on Hotspurs with a 3-0 victory. First 20min of the game were a bit crazy and it looked like we were on a roll to witness incredible miss after another. Hotspurs should have taken the lead within the first few minutes but were once denied by Keion in Goal or then by their striker that involuntary saved the ball on the line. OG answered with 3 cross bar within the 1st half and a few brace of chances but both team went back to the bench empty handed. A few changes at half time to bring some fresh leg and with the guideline to challenge their keeper with more long range shoot. OG overall dominated the 2nd half but had to wait the 65min for Remi on the right wing to cut in and release a shoot outside the box that went into the bottom right corner of the goal. 1-0. Hotspurs had a few honest chances to level up with some nice moved initiated by their very active midfielders. But OG were the most realistic and Remi once again from a similar move manage to double the lead. Ultimately in the last few minutes of the game Hugo converted a penalty to make it a nice 3-0. A enjoyable game played in the right spirit between both team that really played so nice move in midfield.
