Gin soaked cornflakes

Smelling salts. Ice bath. Chilli up the jaxi. Not quite sure what the remedy is for the 1TM cattleprod that struck us for 10 minutes in the second half to take the game away and give them a well deserved victory. Epitomised by their free ranging number 10 who got our opponent MoM and the fourth. Robson-Kanu against Belgium is all I say. We were a bit disrupted with illness and unexpected delays. And it had that feeling before the game. Muggy, heavy day. We needed to start sharp. Ominously, 1TM scored after 60 seconds. Yet, we grew into the game manfully as always. But it was gut busting stuff from both sides. We got a deserved equaliser through Niall with a lovely control and finish, and coped with Latini's dynamism well not offering up any clear chances. Bit of comedy on the indirect free kick...ahem. Half time. Both sides were clearly bolloxed even with the 5pm KO and another 45 to go. High octane stuff. We played our best football for the next 15 and tension was building. More comedy...ahem. Corner. Wonderful header. 1TM refound their spark. And 5 minutes later it was 4-1. Next 20 we played stunned but again finished stronger with some corners and free kicks. And comedy...ahem! Angus was a beast at the back and incredibly composed at times. Great to have Gerraint and Leighton (answering the 330 pm bat signal) back after long lay offs. 9 points left! Thanks again to 1TM and officials giving up their time on a holiday

BOGGY BOGGY BOGGY

Tactical Tally had assembled a strong squad despite another week with key players missing (we all hope Duplo is feeling refreshed after his spa day and Flat White enjoyed his mini break). It was 1-1 in the Lions trilogy so we knew this was going to be a tough challenge. It was great to welcome back Salvo for a 5pm fixture and Caramba and Boggy after a spell on the sidelines. 1TM started with a great intensity and we were 1-0 up within the first couple of minutes. The ball was crossed into Salvo who managed to flick it back to Stinks, who was positioned on the edge of the area. Stinks caught the ball sweetly on the volley that flew into the goal and left the Lions’ ‘keeper with no chance. Lions grew into the game and the contest was quite even with both sides creating a few chances. Lions managed to draw level when their midfielder took advantage of 1TM not being able to clear our lines and played a good ball over our defence. Their striker calmly finished his chance from close range. In the first half, 1TM managed to get the ball in the net a couple of times but Salvo’s header was judged offside and Stink’s free kick was discounted because the wall moved early. HT 1-1 1TM ramped up the pressure in the second half and created some good chances. We got back in front when Cloaky headed in from close range after a decent Lego corner. On 62 minutes, we won a free kick deep in Lions territory and Sharples played the ball quickly through to Yuto San. 1 on 1 with the keeper he performed a sublime bit of skill to open up the goal and calmly finished. On 70 minutes, Boggy got on the score sheet after he and Stinks battled through the Lions backline and smashed it into the far corner and past the ‘keeper’s dive. FT 4-1 Well played Lions who kept battling to the very last minute. Big thanks to Team Otter, Team Doc and Daddy Danube for coming down to support MOM 1TM - Jamie Townsend DOD 1TM - Stinks MOM GL - Adam Smith
